Doctors

Dr N J Muttucumaru (m)
Dr Muttucumaru the owner and clinical lead for the organisation, qualified as a Doctor in 1985 at The University of Leicester. He became a General Practitioner in 1993 and in 2009 was successful in his bid to provide the primary care needs for the Buckshaw Village development and soon afterwards opened a brand new surgery. Dr Muttucumaru has a wide range of interests, and is passionate in his desire to offer community based services for patients from the surgery. He also provides an innovative continuity of care model for patients located within the Oakbridge Retirement Village complex, specifically tailored to meet the needs of dementia patients and for long term rehabilitation patients.

Dr Makhyoan (m)
Dr Makhyoan recently qualified as a GP. He completed his training in the Lake District before relocating to Chorley in 2018. He currently works across the sites.

Dr Sharma (m)
Dr Sharma has been a GP since 2008. He started his medical career at St Andrews and Manchester and worked locally in Chorley General Hospital up until 2004. He then trained as a GP at St Albans/Hemel and Watford. He moved to Buckshaw to be closer to his extended family. His areas of medical interest include Diabetes and Joint Injections / musculoskeletal medicine. Dr Sharma can often be found working Monday, Wednesday & Friday at CMC, he works on the walk in clinic in the morning and offers pre-bookable appointments in the afternoon. Dr Sharma works from Buckshaw Village on a Tuesday & Thursday offering pre bookable appointments.

Dr N Garg (f)
Dr Garg has worked at Croston Medical Centre for a number of years and is very familiar to patients there. Dr Garg can often be found working Monday to Wednesday, on the walk in clinic at CMC in the AM and doing pre-bookable appointments in the afternoon.

Dr H Siddique (f)
Dr Siddique joined Buckshaw Village Surgery in 2019, following a relocation from Bolton. Dr Siddique works 3 days a week; Monday, Wednesday and Friday, providing an increased female presence at Buckshaw Village Surgery.

Dr Z Uddin (m)
Dr Uddin joined Buckshaw Village Surgery in late 2019 after returning to the area where he grew up, following a stint in Teeside where he had worked as a GP for the past 5 years. He works Monday, Tuesday and Friday, mainly at Buckshaw Village Surgery.

Dr F Bala (f)
Dr Bala joined Buckshaw Village Surgery in Janaury 2020. She works 3 days a week; Monday at Lostock Village Surgery, Wednesday and Friday, providing an increased female presence at Buckshaw Village Surgery.

Dr Ramesh (m)
Dr Ramesh trained in Madras India 1965 -1970. He worked as a surgeon between 1970 1976 and came to England in 1977 to complete his Surgical training FRCS. His career moved to General Practice and he joined an NHS GP practice as a Trainee in 1979. He worked in GP partnership for six years. In 1986 he became a Single Handed GP in Fleetwood and remained there till 2017. He has provided Locum cover in Buckshaw Village Surgery & group for over five years, and took up his current position as long term Locum in June 2018.

Dr Katherine Wildon (f) (AMC)
Dr Wildon can be found working at Adlington Medical Centre 3 days a week.

Dr Simon Robinson (m)
Dr Robinson has worked as a long term locum GP at Croston Medical Centre for a number of years. He still works there Tuesday and Thursdays and has recently started working a Friday at Adlington Medical Centre.

Earache, sinusitis, hayfever, tonsillitis, sore throat, flu symptoms, chesty cough, asthma, laryngitis, conjunctivitis, diarrhoea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, rashes, stings, abscess, athletes foot, eczema, shingles, chicken pox, emergency contraception, cystitis, vaginal discharge, back pain, stiff neck, pulled muscles, frozen shoulder, mastitis, tiredness.

Practice Nurses

Are available to offer chronic disease management, blood pressure monitoring, travel advice and vaccinations, health checks, contraception advice, cervical screening and childhood immunisations.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as blood pressure measurement, diabetic foot checks and new patient screening. Our healthcare assistants also assist Doctors in personal examinations were a chaperone may be required.

Medicines Management

Medicines Management provides specialist support to the clinical team, offering advice and guidance on suitable medication or alternative medication, as well as ensuring the practice is prescribing in line with current guidance from NICE, the CCG and NHSE. Our prescribing pharmacist is also able to review and issue medication, he conducts a large number of medication reviews.

Administration

Administrative staff provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as requesting repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries.
