Community Skin Hub

Welcome to the Community Skin Hub information page.

Community Skin Hub

Teledermatology is playing a key role in the fight against skin cancer. The NHS recently announced that it will invest in and accelerate the rollout of the urgent 28 day to faster diagnosis skin cancer pathway and suspected cancer referrals.

If you have contacted your practice with a skin lesion you may be scheduled for an appointment at the Community Skin Hub

Details about your appointment and directions to the Community Skin Hub can be accessed via the link below.

The Community Skin Hub.

Your image appointment will be at one of our Hub Locations.

During your appointment our Hub staff will take images of your skin lesions.

Should your lesion be identified as a potential case of Skin Cancer – firstly it is important to note that you will not have a confirmed diagnosis of skin cancer at that stage.

A full assessment and diagnosis would be completed through a referral to Lancashire Teaching Hospital’s Dermatology department.

This referral would be via the Urgent Skin Cancer Pathway and would result in further assessment within two weeks.

Finally, some conditions, although not cancerous or identified as rodent ulcers (a from of cancer named Basal Cell Carcinoma), your GP will be notified to assess what other treatment is required.

Once you have completed you treatment with the hub – and we have discharged you from our care – we would be very grateful if you can provide us feedback on the service.

Should you have any queries following you appointment you should contact your GP practice.
