Patient Newsletter Apr 18 Posted or Updated on 18 Apr 2024

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all patients at our surgeries in the NM Health Innovations group are kept informed of developments and news which may be of interest to you. We hope these updates continue to prove useful.

Eaves Lane Babychanging/Breastfeeding Room

We would like to make patients aware of our breastfeeding and baby changing room at our Eaves Lane Surgery.

This is a great facility for any of our patients attending appointments at the surgery with babies and we are very pleased to be able to offer this room for any patient who may need to make use of it.

Please contact our reception team in the usual way if you require any further information.

Holiday Vaccinations

If you require holiday vaccinations or think you may need them, please note you must submit a request form at least eight weeks in advance of your departure date in order for us to make arrangements for appointments etc.

You can access the form on our website at www.nmhealthinnovations.co.uk

Just click the tab marked ‘Services’ on the bar at the top of the home page, then choose ‘Clinics and Services’ and scroll to the bottom of the list where you then click on ‘Travel Vaccination and Travel Advice.’

Please then complete the online form and click the ‘submit’ button. The form will come through to our staff at your chosen surgery.

If you have no internet access, please pick up a hard copy from your surgery and drop off at reception.

When the form is received, one of our nurses will get back to you to advise if vaccinations are needed and if so, which ones, and will make an appointment for you.

Roadworks

The roadworks close to the Highfield Road/Southport Road junction by the Highfield pub/restaurant are continuing to cause delays in the Croston area and are affecting the journeys of many patients attending appointments at Croston Medical Centre.

If you have an appointment at the surgery or need to attend for any other reason and this location is on your route, please allow extra time for your journey.

Please also note Euxton Lane is still being affected by overnight closures which may affect patient journeys to Buckshaw Surgery especially if they overrun.

Homeless and Ukraine Appeals

We have delivered another consignment of donated items from both patients and staff to the Ukraine depot this week and they were gratefully received.

We are as ever continuing to accept donations for both The Chorley Support for Ukraine group and The Chorley Homeless Group.

If you have any toiletries, sanitary products, baby items, pet food, non-perishable food items, shoes, clean duvets, blankets, towels, coats or sleeping bags you can spare, please drop them off at any of our surgeries during opening hours.

Please mark your bags if you have a preference for which appeal you wish them to go to.
