Weekly Patient Newsletter - Thursday, June 9 Posted on 16 Jun 2022

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of all developments at Buckshaw Village Surgery, Croston and Adlington Medical Centres, our sites at Lostock Hall and on matters affecting former Eaves Lane Surgery patients. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.

Open Day

We are delighted to advise that we will be holding an Open Day at Croston Medical Centre on Saturday, June 25.

The event will run from 10am to 2pm and during that time everyone is welcome to come down to the CMC site on Brookfield in the village, postcode PR26 9HY.

On the day, you can have a look round our medical centre and facilities, chat to our friendly team of clinicians.

We have specialist clinicians on hand who can offer advice on subjects such as HRT, Ashtam/COPD, breast screening along with any general concerns you may have.

You can also if you wish have a free blood pressure check, a free BMI check, and ask us about any general medical issues.

Refreshments will be available, and there will also be other attractions for all the family including a chance to take on our quiz king Tony and win a prize if you beat the master!!

Free parking is available and everyone is welcome so we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the day.

Holiday Vaccinations

The holiday season is now in full swing and we would like to remind patients requiring travel vaccination appointments that they need to complete the appropriate form on our website at

You can find it by clicking the section marked ‘Travel Vaccination Form’ on the left of the site’s home page. Once completed, please click the ‘submit’ button and the form will come through to our staff at your chosen surgery.

Alternatively, you can pick up a copy from any of our surgeries and drop off at reception.

When received, one of our nurses will check the form and get back to you to advise if vaccinations are needed and if so, which ones, and will make an appointment for you.

Please note the form must be received at least six weeks before the date of travel.

Ukraine Appeal

The Chorley & District Support for Ukraine group’s appeal is continuing as the situation remains very difficult in Eastern Europe.

We are still accepting toiletries, ladies' sanitary products, baby items, non-perishable foods, tins of dog and cat food and also clean clothing and shoes if they are in good condition.

Please drop them off at one of our surgeries at any time during opening hours. Our staff will be on hand to assist you if needed.

Walk-In Clinic

We are delighted to advise that following the success of our walk-in clinic at Croston Medical Centre (CMC), on Monday mornings, we are now hosting a further walk-in clinic at the same site on Friday mornings.

The clinics now run from 8.30am to 10.30am every Monday and Friday at CMC.

However, please note that these clinics are for Croston patients only and unfortunately are not open to patients registered at other surgery sites.
