Weekly Newsletter Posted or Updated on 15 Feb 2022

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of all developments at Buckshaw Village Surgery, Croston and Adlington Medical Centres, our sites at Lostock Hall and on matters affecting former Eaves Lane Surgery patients. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.

Telephone System

Our new phone system has been in place for several weeks now and we are pleased to say it has been operating efficiently.

However, we are conscious that we need the system to operate to the maximum benefit of our patients and as such we have been monitoring feedback from you.

Having reviewed the feedback, we have now made a number of minor changes to the way the system operates which we have now put in place.

We hope will be beneficial to both ourselves and the patients but welcome any further feedback from you as we continue to review the service on an ongoing basis.

Reopening of Buckshaw Village Surgery

The phased reopening of Buckshaw Village Surgery is now in progress.

A small number of our clinicians are back on site and the next phase of the reopening is due to take place next week.

Our other sites will also see a phased reopening which we hope will include a gradual increase in the number of face-to-face appointments.

We would like to emphasise that the reopening continues to be on a very limited basis and is also being undertaken strictly in line with Government regulations.

Please monitor our website, Facebook and other social media platforms which will be updated as soon as we have any further news.

Wearing of Face Masks

You will be aware that this week the Government has announced that most of the remaining regulations brought in to address the Covid pandemic are to be lifted from next Monday, July 19.

However with regard to the wearing of face coverings in surgeries, until further notice we are continuing to insist that everyone entering our surgeries, be they staff, patients or other visitors, should wear face coverings as beforehand unless they have specific medical exemptions.

We are monitoring directives from NHS England on the issue and will advise immediately via our website and social media channels as soon as there are any changes in the situation.

Increased Number of Appointments

Our extra GP clinics on both Saturdays and Sundays are now in full operation and so far the feedback from patients has been favourable.

We are aware that during the pandemic, patients may have experienced problems making appointments and these clinics have now been arranged in an effort to improve our service and clear any backlog.

All the additional appointments will initially be by telephone triage due to the continuation of Covid regulations, and if the GP deems a face to face appointment is necessary, this will then be arranged for the earliest available time after the initial appointment.

Please call our usual number on 01772 376600 to arrange an appointment or for further information.
