Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of all developments at Buckshaw Village Surgery, Croston and Adlington Medical Centres, our sites at Lostock Hall and on matters affecting former Eaves Lane Surgery patients. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.
Covid vaccinations – Fourth jab
We have received a number of inquiries about the Covid vaccine fourth or further booster dose which the Government announced will now be made available.
We would advise that at present, availability of this jab is restricted to immune-supressed patients only.
In order to receive the jab from us, such patients must obtain a letter from their own consultant confirming their immune-suppressed condition.
They must bring this letter to our vaccination hub at Jubilee House and they will then be given their fourth jab.
All other categories of patient, regardless of age group, are not currently eligible for this jab but we will advise immediately should the situation change.
The full address of the vaccination hub is: Jubilee House, Centurion Way, Leyland PR26 6TR, and opening hours are 8am-7.40pm Wed to Sat, closed for lunch 1-2pm.
The site is also continuing to offer annual flu jabs and first, second and third Covid jabs.
You can attend as a walk-in or make an appointment via the NHS app.
We are also continuing to offer annual flu jabs to all eligible patients aged 65 or under
by appointment only so please call us on our usual number 01772 376600 to book your jab.
Walk-In Clinics
As you will be aware, we unfortunately had to temporarily suspend the walk-in clinics we recently introduced at Croston Medical Centre due to the prevalence of the Omicron variant.
We are delighted to announce that the walk-in clinics will resume this Monday, March 7 and run from 8am-10.30am every Monday morning until further notice,
Please note at present this is a Mondays only clinic and is for Croston Medical Centre patients only.
New GP
We are pleased to advise that a new GP has joined our team on a permanent basis.
Dr Sania Ahmed takes up her duties next week and will be holding clinics at various sites across the group. We are sure you will join us in welcoming Dr Ahmed on board.
We are also in the process of strengthening our reception/communications team across the group and will advise further shortly.
Travel Vaccinations
A reminder that patients requiring travel vaccination appointments are asked to complete the appropriate form on our website at www.nmhealthinnovations.co.uk.
You can find it by clicking the section marked ‘Travel Vaccination Form’ on the left of the site’s home page. Once completed, please click the ‘submit’ button and the form will come through to our staff at your chosen surgery.
Alternatively, you can pick up a copy from any of our surgeries and drop off at reception.
When received, one of our nurses will check the form and get back to you to advise if vaccinations are needed and if so, which ones, and will make an appointment for you.
Please note the form must be received at least eight weeks before the date of travel.
