Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all patients at our Adlington, Buckshaw, Croston, Eaves Lane Chorley and Lostock Hall surgeries are kept fully informed of news relevant to them. We hope these updates continue to prove useful.
Holiday Vaccinations
With the holiday season now almost upon us, it’s time to book your holiday vaccinations and remember, you must submit your form at least eight weeks before the date of travel to allow time for processing and appointments to be made.
If you apply too late, you may miss your chance and have to pay to have your vaccinations to be done privately.
To proceed, visit www.nmhealthinnovations.co.uk and download a request form by clicking on the ‘Online Services’ tab, going to the ‘Who to See’ link under the ‘Book Appointments’ section then scrolling down to the ‘Travel Vaccinations’ link.
After completing the form, click submit and the form will go to your chosen site.
Once received, one of our nurses will then check it and get back to you to advise if vaccinations are needed and if so, which ones, and will make an appointment for you.
Alternatively, you can call at any of our surgeries and complete a hard copy form.
Blood Tests – Chorley Hospital
A reminder that both Chorley and Preston hospitals are no longer taking GP urgent bloods and patients are advised to instead attend Healthport Community Diagnostic Centre, Vicarage Lane, Fulwood, PR2 8DW for their GP urgent blood tests.
Opening times are 8.30am-4.30pm Monday to Friday and free parking is available.
This is a walk in service with no appointment needed and the service also accepts hospital bloods as walk-ins.
Please note the clinic closes promptly at 4.30pm so patients must arrive before 4pm.
Building Work Affecting Parking at Buckshaw Village Surgery
Planned work on the surgery building at Buckshaw is continuing and the scaffolding covering one side of the car park is expected to be in place for several more days.
As previously advised, the disabled spaces have been temporarily relocated to the opposite side of the car park and there are less normal spaces available.
We apologise for any inconvenience and would request patients allow extra travel time for appointments in case they need more time to find a parking spot.
Temporary Surgery Closure
We would request all patients note that essential training which is being delivered to NHS staff nationwide is taking place next Tuesday, May 13.
On this date all our surgery sites and phone lines will close at 12.30pm.
During the closure period, please call 111 for medical issues or in an emergency 999.
Our normal enhanced service of pre-booked appointments will operate from 6.30pm and phone lines at all sites reopen at 8am the following day, Wednesday, May 14, with doors open 8.30am as normal. We thank you in anticipation of your understanding.
