WEEKLY NEWSLETTER – Thursday, Sept 16 Posted or Updated on 15 Feb 2022

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of all developments at Buckshaw Village Surgery, Croston and Adlington Medical Centres, our sites at Lostock Hall and on matters affecting former Eaves Lane Surgery patients. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.

Covid Booster Jabs

You will be probably be aware through national media reports in the last day or so that a Covid booster jab programme has now been announced by the Government.

Initially, this will involve adults aged 50 plus, front line health care workers and those aged 16-49 with a range of underlying health conditions agreed by NHS England and JCVI along with those who share households with them.

Those of our patients in these categories will shortly be receiving an invitation letter from ourselves in respect of making an appointment for this jab, the date of which must in all cases be at least six months after the patient’s previous Covid jab.

We would therefore request that patients do not contact our surgeries to make appointments.

Covid first and second jabs

The Government have also confirmed that the Covid vaccination programme has been extended to include single jabs for 12 to 15-year-olds.

We are involved in the delivery of this programme but please note it is being rolled out via high schools.

Parents will be contacted via their school who will arrange the consent procedure and advise dates of clinics so please do not contact us with inquiries on booking these appointments.

In the mean time, we are continuing with our first and second jab vaccination programme with our regular clinics at Jubilee House, Centurion Way, Leyland PR26 6TR.

Opening hours are 8am-8pm from Wednesdays to Saturdays - closed for lunch 1-2pm – latest walk-in arrival 7:40pm, and anyone aged 16 or over is welcome to attend.

Surgeries now fully open

As our surgeries are now full open, we are pleased to confirm that you can now call in at any of our sites to make appointments.

Patients can do so from opening time at 8am onwards daily, and our reception staff will be happy to help you and also assist with any other issues such as ordering repeat prescriptions.

You can of course continue to make appointments by phone via our usual number, 01772 376600.

Please be assured that we have noted feedback from patients over lengthy waiting times on our phone system at busy times, and we are working to address this issue.

Tatton development

Work is continuing to progress well on the new complex on the former bus depot on Eaves Lane, Chorley, adjacent to the Tatton Recreation Ground, which will include a new state of the art surgery operated by ourselves.

This facility replaces the former Eaves Lane Surgery which as you will know is now closed for the foreseeable future, and we hope to welcome many of our former ELS patients as possible to the Tatton surgery.
