Weekly Patient Newsletter Posted or Updated on 14 Apr 2023

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of all developments at Adlington and Croston Medical Centres, Buckshaw Surgery, our new Chorley surgery on Eaves Lane and our surgery sites at Lostock Hall. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.

Covid Spring Booster Vaccinations

Our Covid Spring Booster jab programme is now in operation and our vaccination team has already been out visiting care homes and the housebound to dispense the jabs.

Invitations are currently going out via text or letter to other eligible categories, including the over 75s and those with a weakened immune system, with instructions on how to book your jab via the National Booking Service.

Jabs are being dispensed at our new vaccination site on Wigan Road, Euxton, opposite the Bay Horse pub from Wednesday to Friday and at Buckshaw Surgery on Saturday and Sunday. Closed for lunch 1pm-2pm.

The Wigan Road site is also additionally open this Monday and Tuesday, April 17 and 18.

Patients may call as walk-ins subject to eligibility but please note you may face a lengthy wait as pre-booked patients will be prioritised, and we would advise pre-booking if possible.

Please note our usual annual flu jab programme has now closed until the autumn.

Enhanced Access Service

We hope our improved Enhanced Access Service is proving beneficial to our patients.

The service, which is now in operation at our Buckshaw Surgery site, runs from 6.30pm to 8pm from Monday to Friday and from 9am to 5pm on Saturdays.

All appointments available within the service are now reserved exclusively for patients registered at our own sites.

There is a GP and clinical team in place on site at all times the service is in operation and all clinicians have full access to patient records.

To make an appointment, please contact the surgery at which you are registered.

If you have any problems using the service or if you require any further info, please contact our reception and communications team who will be happy to help you.

Our New Chorley Surgery

We are very excited about the opening of our new Eaves Lane Surgery which as previously advised will come into operation on Monday, April 24.

The surgery, part of the Tatton Gardens development at the south end of Eaves Lane, faces out onto the main road where the main entrance is located.

All patients of our former Eaves Lane surgery site will be automatically registered at the new site and we will also shortly be accepting new patient registrations.

We will have a resident GP and a clinical and reception team on site from the opening day with more details to follow next week.

Ukraine and Homeless Appeals

The Chorley Support for Ukraine Group have renewed their appeal for donations which are desperately needed as the conflict continues in the country.

If you can help, please drop off any toiletries, sanitary products, baby items, non-perishable foods, tins of pet food and also clean clothing at any of our surgeries during opening hours.

We are also continuing to accept donations for the Chorley Help the Homeless group.

Please mark your bags of donated items accordingly if you have a preference as to which appeal you wish them to go to.
