Weekly newsletter 9 Posted or Updated on 15 Feb 2022

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of all developments at Buckshaw Village Surgery, Croston and Adlington Medical Centres, our sites at Lostock Hall and on matters affecting former Eaves Lane Surgery patients. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.

Reopening of our surgery sites

The signs are still looking good that the easing of Government restrictions imposed during the Covid outbreak will continue as scheduled.

With this in mind, we are now in advanced planning for a phased reopening of our surgery sites in the coming weeks.

We hope to reintroduce more regular clinics at sites across the group and increase face to face appointments.

With regards to Buckshaw Village Surgery, in the light of the forthcoming revision of Covid vaccine programme arrangements clinics which will see these operations moved to an alternative site, we hope to soon be able reintroduce to BVS many of the clinics which had temporarily been moved to other sites within the group.

All changes are of course subject to any change in the national situation or any new Government restrictions which may be imposed.

We will issue further updates via this website and our Facebook page and Twitter account as soon as more information is to hand.

Covid Vaccination Programme

Please be advised that all new first dose bookings are now being made via the centralised NHS booking system which can be accessed via the link www.nhs.uk/book-a-coronavirus-vaccination

When you access the link, please choose Buckshaw Village Surgery as your venue when prompted.

However, it is important to note that when using this link you must make appointments for both your first AND second doses, otherwise your booking will not be completed and your first dose appointment will not be made.

If you have already had your first dose with us prior to the adoption of the centralised booking system, you will be contacted by us when your second dose is due in the same way as you were for your first dose ie text or phone message.

In respect of the rollout operation in future weeks, you will be aware from our previous newsletter that we are now working in collaboration with Bridgedale PCN with regards to the second phase of the vaccine programme rollout.

As part of this arrangement, at some time in the near future at a date yet to be confirmed, the service will be transferred to the Central Lancashire PCT’s headquarters at Jubilee House, Centurion Way, Leyland.

However, we would stress that the vaccination rollout is continuing at our Buckshaw site for the immediate future and we will advise any further updates and full details of the new arrangements as soon as they become available via this website and our Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Telephone System

Staff training is now taking place in respect of the new, upgraded telephone system and we are on course for the system to go live in the next few days.

We thank you for your patience and sincerely hope the problems experienced with the old system will be alleviated by the increased effectiveness and capacity of the new system.
