We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, reliable, highly motivated receptionist/telephonists to join our existing team of 25 administration staff.
There are vacancies at Buckshaw Village Surgery, Croston Medical Centre and The Village Surgery.
These are part time roles offering 26.25 hours per week with the possibility of overtime as and when required.
Working hours are Monday - Friday 8am-1:15pm or Monday - Friday 1:15pm-6:30pm, exact hours to be negotiated.

Depending on experience with £9.10 per hour minimum increasing dependant on experience and regular reviews.

Job Summary:
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Job Responsibilities:
Administration
- To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.
- To work in accordance of written protocols.
- Pulling/filing notes for surgeries and update when required.
- Scanning/Filing post in medical records.
- Fax and photocopy as requested.
Reception
- Receiving patients consulting with members of practice team.
- Handing prescriptions requests via telephone and with patients.
- Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary.
Appointments
- Process appointment requests for today, and future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
- Deal with visits requests.
Computer
- Registrations of new patients computer data entry and medical records.
- Process patients change of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area.)
- Process repeat prescription request in accordance with practice guidelines.
Telephone
- Have working knowledge of telephone/bleep system, during and after hours.
Other Tasks
- Clear rooms after surgeries.
- Ensure building security.
- Summarising of medical notes onto computer system.

Qualifications
Essential
- GCSE grade C and above in both English and Maths
- Experienced wit basic computer skills
Desirable
- GCSE grade C and above in IT is preferred but not essential.

- Previous experience in customer service / public facing role.

- Previous experience in General Practice or primary/ Secondary care setting.
