Patient Newsletter - Sep 21 Posted or Updated on 21 Sep 2023

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of developments at Adlington and Croston Medical Centres, Buckshaw Surgery, our Eaves Lane, Chorley site and our surgery sites at Lostock Hall. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.

Covid Booster Injections

Please could all patients note that our Autumn Covid Booster vaccination programme is now open.

As previously advised, our designated walk-in vaccination site is located on Wigan Road, Euxton PR7 6JW, next door to Rowlands Pharmacy and opposite the Bay Horse pub.

Opening hours are from 9am to 5pm from Wednesday to Friday every week. Closed for lunch 1pm-2pm.

We are also holding walk-in clinics every Saturday at Buckshaw Surgery when opening times are 9am-Noon and 2pm-5pm.

Anyone aged 18 and over may attend any of the above clinics as a walk-in and you do not have to be a patient at one of our surgeries.

Our own patients who are in priority categories, such as those aged 65 and over, have certain health conditions and/or are immunosuppressed, have been sent text messages inviting them to book a specified time for their jab at one of our vaccination clinics.

All pre-bookings must be made online and if you have received a message, it will contain a link which will enable you to book via the National Booking System. Bookings can also be made by calling 119.

Please be advised that this is the correct procedure so there is no need to contact our surgeries to check if the text link is legitimate.

Those from the above categories who have pre-booked will be prioritised so there may be a short wait for walk-ins and please note afternoon clinics tend to be quieter so it may be advisable for walk-ins to attend then if you can.

Vacancy

We are looking to strengthen our team further by recruiting a new practice nurse.

If you are interested or you know anyone who may be interested, please click on this link

for further details and instructions on how to apply. The closing date is October 1.

Goodbye to Jeesica

It’s a sad week for us as we say goodbye to Jessica Lea who has been our temporary practice manager for more than a year.

Based at Buckshaw but operating across all sites, Jessica has been a very able and popular member of staff and we are sure you will join us in wishing her well in the future.

We welcome back Aimee Mughal who returns as practice manager after maternity leave.
