Weekly News Update 7 Posted or Updated on 15 Feb 2022

Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of all developments at Buckshaw Village Surgery, Croston and Adlington Medical Centres, our sites at Lostock Hall and on matters affecting former Eaves Lane Surgery patients. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.

Covid Vaccination Programme

We are proud to have been able to play our part in the national vaccination rollout, which has been very successful with more than 30 million people vaccinated and a report estimating that more than 6,000 lives have already been saved.

We are of course continuing to proceed as quickly and safely as possible with our Covid vaccination programme.

The situation for both first and second vaccines is constantly changing due to a number of factors including supply issues or changes in Government guidelines.

We are hoping for further information very shortly and will advise as soon as this information is to hand.

We would therefore ask all patients to regularly check this website or our Facebook and Twitter accounts which will be updated as soon as any further information becomes available.

Phone system

The final phase of work on our upgraded telephone system, which will operate at all sites across the group, is now on the verge of being completed and the system is expected to come fully into operation on Monday, May 3.

We sincerely hope many of the problems experienced by patients contacting us by phone will be alleviated by the new system.

However, please could all patients bear with us for just a short time longer as engineers complete their work and staff training on the upgraded system is completed.

We thank you for your continued patience on this matter.

A new addition to our team

We are delighted to welcome on board Dr Nujemunissa Hussain to our team of clinicians.

Dr Hussain is an experienced GP and is already holding clinics at surgeries across the group.

Reopening of surgeries

You will be aware that in line with Government advice, further restrictions imposed due to the Covid pandemic have been lifted this week.

We are hopeful of shortly being in a position to lift the severe restrictions on visiting our surgeries which were imposed at the start of the pandemic, but at present arrangements remain unchanged.

As soon as any change is confirmed, full details will be posted on the website and on our Facebook page.
